PETFOOD RUN APRIL 2010

Mick P Scotty and Brian tested the route prior to the event to see if there were any roadworks etc and all was deemed satisfactory.

Sunday morning 7a.m. and Ian was putting the finishing touches to the trike after minor rust problems. Having had the petrol tank off for three weeks and some of the framework for repainting there was always a worry it may not start. With a new clutch cable for fitting and a few parts to refit the sands of time were running low. 10:30 ready to try and turn the ignition….hey presto, first time. In need of a quick wash down , the trike as well, it was time to head for the starting point. As he filled up at the petrol station two bikers were ready to leave for a Sunday ride to nowhere in particular. Ian mentioned the Pet Food Run and 15 minutes later saw them at the pub ready to join us. Welcome to Neil and Len from Stockport H.O.G. Hatters Chapter.
Just goes to show, there are no strangers in the biking scene, just friends you have yet to meet.

Janine, Helen and Spanners were picking up animal feeds from Sherfins and many others gathered at the Hope and Anchor for our annual Pet Food Run.

First stop was to the RSPCA at Altham, Accrington, to drop of cash donations, dog food, cat food and carrots, before taking a scenic trip over the Grane Road and onto Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, at Edenfield near Bury to do the same.
There was an unexpected change to the route from previous years as Ian went straight ahead at a roundabout where as everybody else turned left.
The weather remained kind to us and stayed dry and around 60 bikes and trikes enjoyed another successful charity ride out. Clubs that joined us on the day were Scavengers, Millennium2000bc, Mobile Chaos, our new friends from the Hatters and many other independent riders who enjoy this yearly event.

Thanks to all those who left donations at the Hope and Anchor, to Sherfins and the public who left donations with them and especially to those who rode with us on the day.

Looking forward to the next event and a another great rally season ahead of us.

Ride safe, AMCC

FRIGHT NIGHT 11 2009

Fright Night 2009 at the Poplar Club Accrington was another success and our thanks goes out to all those who attended.

We had gotten a little worried early on as the band had been stuck in traffic on the infamous M6 but sighed relief when they came through the door. Worry again as it was disclosed the lead singer was still missing, last known position on the also infamous M60. We’re not quite sure how he got there, perhaps a detour as the others came via the M65. Anyway, he eventually arrived, in time, and all was in place for a great night.

Ian was behind the decks playing an eclectic mix of Rock tunes from classic hits, punk, cover versions and today’s latest releases. Tonight’s band V8 were all the way from the midlands.

Once again lots of people made the effort to don Fancy Dress and enjoyed another Accrington MCC event. Witches, warlocks, zombies and other monsters with Mr and Mrs Dracula winning the bottle of bubbly for best in show.

The raffle was in aid of SCOPE and we raised around £200 for this charity.
People who kindly donated towards the raffle were…

ACCRINGTON MCC.
THORNCRAFT MOTORCYCLES, BLACKBURN.
CLARKES MOTORCYCLES, ACCRINGTON.
PHILLIP YOULES MOTORCYCLES, BLACKBURN.
A1 MOTORCYCLES.
INK TATTOOIST.
JENNINGS POLISHERS & RACE PRODUCTS.
ROCKET CENTRE, BLACKBURN.
FLASHPOINT IMAGES PHOTOGRAPHY, KEIGHLEY.

Thanks to those who made the effort in this financial crisis and travelled from afar, Chorley, Darwen, Stafford and furthest travelled….South Africa.
Well…. The drummer had just returned the previous day from his holidays there sporting a black eye. He was head butted by a giraffe whilst hiding up a tree having been chased by a lion was our guess.

John Larson was there with his flashpoint IMAGES photography promoting his business with people able to purchase pictures of the event, on the night. He set up a stall in the corner and printed off thumbnails which could be viewed before buying and enlarged to the size of your choice for a small fee. Some of these pictures can be viewed on his website if you wish to peruse and purchase. www.flashpointimages.co.uk  under Parties. Also available for Portraits / Portfolio / Pets / Events and more.

Looking forward to seeing you all at our next event on Saturday 13th February 2010, put it in your diary now.

Ride safe, AMCC

OFF YER SPROCKET RALLY 2009

Yes, it was the Off Yer Sprocket Rally, not the Reeferknot Rally as the wrist bands suggested.

At least the badges were the right ones.

With the weather forecast predicting rain one minute then sunshine then back to rain again, we decided to hire a marquee from Millennium 2000 BC as a shelter for the smokers and overflow. Ian organised music outside on the veranda and our trusty P.A. guy Mick brought the extra speakers.

AMCC PET FOOD RUN 2009

Sunday morning 8:30 and I should be having a lie in. Glorious sunshine prompted me to rise earlier than I would have liked to so that I could get the trike out and cleanse it of the winter protection. Motorex Protect & Shine 645 Oil of Switzerland is a fantastic product for the chrome work. It can be lightly applied and buffed to a shiny finish.
Applied slightly thicker and left it will provide a thin film which keeps the dirt out. Warm soapy water is all that is required to remove it easily. It can be bought at Philip Youles in Blackburn, try it, I’m sure you’ll agree it is a great product.

VALENTINES ROCK NIGHT 2009

It turned out to be one of our busiest nights in ages and the new venue at Poplar Social club Accrington turned out to be a good replacement to our old King St Pub. Boneyard Dogs featuring their new line up and singer played flawlessly and kicking much ass! With many people asking for their contact details it said a lot about their show. Our Manchester Millions Cancer Fund Charity raised over £200 and the generosity of the crowd donated generously to Scotty's(Scavs) get well hardship fund. It shows bikers still support good causes despite many peoples own financial difficulties just now.Very much appreciated.

Heres Boneyard Dog's Mr C's Myspace review:
